One can’t live on French food alone forever…sorry Francophiles but sometimes we all need a different flavour kick here and there.
Paris has unfortunately disappointed a slew of expats and globetrotters far and wide with its mediocre and too often Frenchified offering of ethnic cuisine but that may all be finally coming to an end with new entrants like El Nopal in town cooking up some serious, authentic Mexican food, including handmade corn tortillas and homemade salsa.
This hole-in-the-wall taqueria (literally…there are only 2 stools with barely enough room to stand) situated off of Canal Saint-Martin specializes in Mexican tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.
It’s best to take your food to go and sit along the canal to enjoy a little taco picnic in all its delicious glory. And it’s open on Sundays!
